WORCESTER STORM UPDATE
The cleanup from this week’s record-breaking blizzard continues on Wednesday and is likely to continue through this weekend. At the same time, city officials are monitoring more potential snow in the forecast and urging residents to be ready.

Department of Public Works plows are continuing to work to push back snow and widen streets. This work will continue Wednesday and Thursday. At around midday, salt trucks began treating the city’s main routes in an effort to get them down to the pavement.

SCHOOL CLOSED ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 29
Due to ongoing cleanup efforts at our schools and throughout the city, the Worcester Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, January 29, 2015. All before and after school activities are also canceled. The Durkin Administration Building will be open.

We want all students and staff to be safe during this cleanup and recovery period. Please be careful in snow removal and navigating the streets and corners as the city returns to normal operating status.
SCHOOLS CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2015

Due to on-going significant snow storm and cleanup activities across the city, the Worcester Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 28, 2015.  All before and after school activities are also canceled.

If the state’s travel ban for Worcester County is lifted, the Durkin Administration Building will be open on a two-hour delay.  If the travel ban is still in place at 6:00am tomorrow morning, the Administration Building will be closed.

We want all students and staff to be safe during this storm and look forward to resuming normal operations when it is safe to do so.
